A Work In Progress I receive so many requests asking for photo's of our new decorating venture that I decided to put together a few before & after photo's to share with you of our new home. My family and I embarked on the adventure of a lifetime when we purchased an 1820's, 10 Room Federal Colonial. Please do not be frighten by the pictures you are about to see. LOL. It has been a labor of love and quite the challenge I must say but well worth the time and effort we have put into this grand ole house thus far. I love the soul and history of an older home and every room in the house has a story to tell. I remember my first walk through and curiously wondering, who lived here 180 years ago and what their lives were like. I immediately fell in love with the wonderful architectural period details, the character & charm of each room and envisioned what "it could be" despite its dungeon like appearance. I knew I needed to breathe light into the house and the previously outdated decorative work quite frankly needed to be removed. White paint and good natural light is key to freshening up any home. As soon as the first layer of white paint was applied, Light was born. Our home now reflects light & airiness and our personal style of a love of the past, a passion for collecting and family memories. A place where you can curl up and find a cozy nook or cranny and feel at home. I hope you will enjoyed our kitchen and pantry make-over and perhaps find a bit of inspiration to under go your next decorating challenge. Have Fun & Happy Decorating! After |
